We have worked out why they call the islands Windward islands. We had an exhilarating windward sail from Bequia to Martinique (about a 100miles) to get Andrew back for his flight. At the moment Occasional islands would fit as well. Occasional showers get you up in the middle of the night to shut the hatches! The hardships of tropical nights.
Enjoyed a great walk around the south of Martinique yesterday – photos to follow

It was a fantastic sail back up to Martinique! It was a little frustrating to be knocked back by the waves quite so much between the islands, but once we got into the shade of Martinique Giselle really took off I could tell Dad was enjoying himself as he was playing the main for me; in-a-bit, out-a-bit — to help me keep her in the groove.
We confused the poor catamarans coming out of Marin and heading south, who were determined to not grant us our right-of-way and perhaps too trusting of my helming as one after another they ducked just to leeward of us!
Looking forward to the next time we can have a fun beat again – but perhaps Giselle is headed the wrong way round the world 😉

First time I’ve played the main on Giselle. It was a great feeling having her in the groove. Come again soon.
