Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum or two or three or four …. or nineteen

April 1st, 2009 · Comments Off

Just two again but not for long. Jane and Alisdair have agreed to go into the courier service and their first job is to St. Lucia, delivering parts to a yacht in transit. They have allowed themselves one week to find Giselle. However we know the arrival times of planes from London and they are [...]

There and back again

March 28th, 2009 · 1 Comment

A few days on our own, a quiet hogmanay in Marin, and we take off walking around the bottom end of Martinique, great walk around the coast, passing some of the best beaches from the sheltered west coast to the great Atlantic side with all the swell rolling in.

January 28th, 2009 · No Comments

Update: Windward or Occasional islands

January 3rd, 2009 · 2 Comments

We have worked out why they call the islands Windward islands. We had an exhilarating windward sail from Bequia to Martinique (about a 100miles) to get Andrew back for his flight. At the moment Occasional islands would fit as well. Occasional showers get you up in the middle of the night to shut the hatches! [...]

Update: Address for Santa

December 24th, 2008 · No Comments

We are in Admiralty bay, Bequia (pronounced Beckway) for Xmas.  Bequia is part of the Grenadines and is just to the south of St Vincent.  They drive on the left here and the bank notes have a youthful Queen Elizabeth on them which reinforces the colonial feel.  It’s hot but we are getting stronger than [...]

At Anchor: Martinique

We been here a day now.  Life on land is full of hussle and bussle!  We both managed to walk without the time at sea having any effect. The green is marvellous.  The cooling wind is very welcome as well. First task after the sign in is to find  a launderette.  Mary has kept up [...]
