Stirling Old Town Jail closes

February 16th, 2009 · 2 Comments

The temporary closure of the jail is true but not connected to Jane and Alisdair’s escape from Scotland. We’ve made Jane and Alisdair feel really at home with our longest period of rain to date. I suppose 28’C does contrast a bit with Scottish rain though. Chris, from the Caribbean Weather Centre that we listen [...]

He was tall, no white beard in fact clean shaven and he brought lots of news and a big bag with presents for Christmas day. A more than welcome [...]

Rolly polly pudding

January 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment

I’m not going to say much about the crossing as David hopefully gave you a feeling for it each day as we crossed. There wasn’t much to see, water, sky, sometimes cloud, stars, and always flying fish, even at night, flying fish. We even had a squid on deck one night. Our watch system worked, [...]

Update: Windward or Occasional islands

January 3rd, 2009 · 2 Comments

We have worked out why they call the islands Windward islands. We had an exhilarating windward sail from Bequia to Martinique (about a 100miles) to get Andrew back for his flight. At the moment Occasional islands would fit as well. Occasional showers get you up in the middle of the night to shut the hatches! [...]
